Medbay

Carter groggily sat up, rubbing his left eye. He looked over at the crew in line for backups. Meissa had already shed clothing and was stretching like she was about to start a striptease, Mat was staring and practically drooling, Arble and Mochi were staring at each other with dreamy, lovestruck expressions, Yoshida looked entirely too mischievous to be up to any good, and Saki looked as much like a sad, lonely puppy as a literal catgirl was physically capable of looking. "No kidding." He said as he stood from the table, shaking his head and blinking rapidly to clear away the fog of the sedative.

Recreation Center: Holographic Chamber 2

William was dripping with sweat. Both his swords were drawn and were red hot. The environment he had selected was a traditional dojo, and standing across from him was a nondescript neko. He was attempting to learn how to counter their gravity manipulation and stealth... with disastrous results. His last attempt, he tried to rush the neko before she could try to stop him. Yet this ended with William getting thrown clear across the room and slammed into the wall. He groaned in anger as he stood and circled the neko again. He stood and held his swords at the ready, and began to circle her. As William began to feel the gravity around begin to become heavier, he ran at her again, but slid low to the ground to avoid getting thrown again, but this time he was just smashed against the floor.

"Ugh! Enough..." He said as he laid on the ground at the virtual neko's feet. The Neko bowed and then disappeared, and so did the dojo. William lay against the blank floor and painted. He had been at it for hours... Rei had given her son the day off and he chose to spend it training...

He stood and sheathed his blades, rolling his shoulders. Damn if he wasn't sore from getting thrown about the room. He lifted his shirt to see several bruises starting to form. "Ouch..." He said absentmindedly as he looked himself over. He decided he should stop by the med bay for some medicine for his bruises before taking a break in his room.

He showered off first, then made his way to the med bay. As he peered inside, the young boy's jaw fell slack.

"What the hell is going on here...?" He muttered to himself. It seemed like everyone had lost their minds. And it smelled awful in there. "Weirdos... I seriously hate this holiday..." He said as he turned and began walking away, wincing slightly as he moved wrong. He debated walking in, asking for what he needed and walking right back out, but decided against it. "Screw it. I'm gonna go take a nap..." He said to himself as he began walking again to his room. "Hate this holiday..."

Taii Teien Eden couldn't help but notice those disinterested in a mental backup today and knew her duties as a captain were necessitated.

She stopped short of the entrance to med bay and messaged Saki, saying tersely, "I am close by."

Then, she saluted back to Anastasia and asked, "Feeling alright?"

She lowered the salute and kept at respectful attention to the captain.

"Yes, ma'am." Anastasia grew quiet again for a moment, before continuing. "Just, thinking about family."
Sadly, depending on how much the Taii vested herself in her crew members, she might know that Anastasia doesn't have a family left. But in the very least, she has the crew.
"And you?"

Mat was currently sitting in the room with the rest of the crew, trying and failing not to look embarrassed, as well as avoid thinking too much about his female crewmates. It was a very difficult task, and he was not succeeding very much.

Medical Bay

Misaki's mind continued to think of Eden as she received her message, noticing it being abrupt. She innocently thought it was abrupt that she was entering the bay and sort of half jogged her way over to the door, her ears tucking back as she did so. She didn't go through the doors, more so waited with longing eyes and a slightly terrified look on her face.

No matter what she thought, her mind either drifted to Eden or the ST scan. She'd rather think about Eden than death, even if the ST scan wouldn't do anything to her. More so, the Soul Transfer scan reminded her that death was possible anywhere. Eden was a better thought than that by far.

"We in the Star Army are there for one another, Anastasia-hei. In more ways than one. I want to urge you to make a family out of your crew mates. Myself included. We're to be always there for one another and always willing to lend a shoulder or a helping hand." She leaned to rest the back of her hips against the wall of the hallway, showing an air of repose. "Is there anything in particular I can do to make you more comfortable on the Kaiyō?"

Every time Mat looked over at Meissa, he found her looking back. But instead of look away blushing, she only tilted her head and winked back at him. A little admiration for her fellow crewmate's athletic prowess, maybe. Even though, yes, he was always a klutz. But sort of an adorable one when he tripped around. Decidedly less when he fell on her. But still. Adorable in his own way. Kind of hot as well?

...Maybe.

Anastasia took a deep breath a leaned back against the wall behind her. She took the captain's words in and thought about it for a moment. She smiled for a bit, before looking back at Eden.
"Well. Don't tell her, but Yosh is like the little sister I never had."

She paused for a moment, looking out into space before responding again, with a more nervous tone. "I-I don't trust the ST backups. The whole system gives me chills."

Medical Bay

With a calming breath, the Juni shrugged off his labcoat and appeared to busy himself with folding it up on a nearby stand. It was so hot he could hardly think - likely because of his proximity to the vial when it dropped. While he did this, Mochi couldn't help himself but glance up to Arbitrated every few seconds, her hair was a gushing waterfall and her wings seemed to glow. The blonde found it adorable how she smiled, colourful locks flowing down one side of her face. He couldn't help but smile himself, a grin that slowly grew from one corner of his mouth in delight.

Eden's brows went up on her forehead as a happy smile showed itself on her face when she heard that Yoshida was like a sister to Anastasia. Then that look was followed by a grim look of dissatisfaction.

"That's not uncommon. A fear of it is seen as a healthy one. You don't have to get one. We'll just be sure to have your back a a hundredfold!" She gripped her hand in a fist and brought it to her side while smiling, now. '"The Star Army of Yamatai would do no less!" She then asked, "Would you like to join me in going in to the med bay or would you like to return to what you were doing before I called the crew here?"

To Saki, she telepathically said, "I'm coming!"

Anastasia pondered for a moment on the offer, but eventually shook her head.
"I'll catch up. Thank you, Taii."
She looked like she was in a better place than before, settled down.

Eden nodded curtly and headed in to the med bay, only to be face to face with her XO, whi had been leaning against the doorway.

Med Bay

The pheromones hit her like a wave crashing over her body.

"Hey, something's not ri—"

She had thought she had said it, but instead was pecking Saki quickly on the lips with a kiss and forgetting the thought had ever existed.

"Well then."
That was Meissa's only comment as she watched her CO practically pin Saki to the wall. That weird blissful smile on her face instantly dropped, as she watched the absurd scene in front of her.
"Umm...Eden? You alright?" she asked. "Oh, and better question: Is it just me or is it horrifically hot in here?"
And what was this feeling? She wasn't fighting or anything. So why did she feel this weird burn on her...her heart? What was this feeling?
All the cheering crowds, all the adrenaline of combat, all the drinking, all the good times...
And yet, emptiness?

Then it struck. All this time, all the cheering crowds, everything. She'd feel it for a second, then it would vanish.
She was alone, wasn't she?
Meissa grimaced. The thought hurt just as much as getting hit by a speeding Plumeria. No-she'd rather be hit by a speeding Plumeria than this sudden wave of loneliness.
"I'm alone, aren't I?" she whispered to herself.

Medical Bay

Misaki, caught off guard for a second, took the kiss in stride and embraced Eden, "I don't like doing medical things alone..." She seemed attached to Eden, "I'm afraid of them." Her effects from the pheromones then began to show more as she tightened the embrace and kissed Eden's neck. She sniffed against tears triggered by the sudden rush of emotion. She then shivered a bit before purring somewhat and staying connected to Eden.

Med Bay

Eden flushed, then patted Saki's lower back with her hand before kissing her favorite Neko's cheek.

She heard Meissa's complaint, nonetheless, and asked, "Boss, could you give us some fresh air?"

"Right away, captain!" came Boss' reply and the air in the medical bay was swept away in an instant and distributed into open space as new, clean, and cool air was cycled in to the medical bay.

"Much better," came Eden's response as she smiled at the crew. She then asked after releasing Saki and taking a few steps back, "How are ST's going?"

Med bay

"Slowly I think!" Yoshida spoke up as she walked over to be put under for the ST backup, shivering a bit as the air was refreshed. She had been squirming in her spot nearly the entire time before then, but showed almost miraculous self control for somone of her energy level, as she had restrained herself from doing the very thing her CO had done to that very same individual! Her highly, shall we say distracted mindset left her unaware however to the conversation between Anastasia and Eden, though her mind kept drifting back to the former, hoping she'd get a backup before the next mission, Yoshida wouldn't tell any one this but it scared the daylights out of her when her mindbackupless friends were underfire.

Finally she flopped onto the table for the backup and stretched out like a content cat for a moment, and looked up at the medic. "Myy turn now yes? Be gentle." She fluttered her eyes almost easingly before shaking her head again, wondering what was coming over her. At least the feeling seemed to be fading now with te clear air.

Near Medical Center

Mitsuko had been slowly making her way through the ship from the Cargo Bay, taking her time. There was no real rush, after all. She could dimly hear conversation as she approached, eyes locked on the datapad on her hand, glasses sliding towards the end of her nose. The door opened to admit her as she grew close to the entrance, eyes flickering back up, glowing without the tinted lenses covering them, mouth opening to announce her presence. She blinked at the sight of two officers, including the Captain, fraternizing in public. Right in front of several other crew members, no less. Many of whom seemed to be partially undressed, and in some sort of emotional distress.

Her mouth closed silently. The Logistics Neko pushed her glasses back into their proper place, feet lifting off the ground as she floated backwards down the hallway, the door quietly closing again once she'd moved out of range.

Med Bay

Carter stepped out of Yoshida's way when she moved forward to be the Medic's next vic- er, subject, and shook his head. He almost couldn't believe his eyes when he saw Eden's sudden, drastic shift in behavior upon entering the medbay. He reached up and rubbed his organic eye again, but there she was still. He had to focus, figure out what was causing this... But his traitorous eyes began to wander across the rest of the crew. He was normally a fairly observant person, but today he was noticing things that had never stood out to him before. Every tiny detail seemed to jump out. The complex colors and patterns in Arbitrated's eyes, the boundless energy that seemed to vent out of Yoshida with every tiny movement, Meissa's finely toned muscles and practically flawless skin, Eden's long, flowing hair... This ship was full of startlingly beautiful women. His mind followed his wandering eyes, briefly beginning to fantasize about what would happen if he were to pull a Mat and-- but, with a monumental effort, he corralled his fuzzy thoughts into a coherent pattern, and an idea formed. A fight would clear his head. And who better to beat the sense back into him than his regular sparring partner, Meissa! With his course of action decided, Carter strode over to the distracted Elysian and leaned in next to her ear, placing a hand on her bare shoulder, and quietly saying "meet me in the rec room after your backup."

Finally, Meissa joined Team Blush as her face flushed bright red when Carter slipped his hand into hers.
Oh dear god there went her heart rate.
Um.
What the hell.
"Uh...sure..." Meissa stuttered out. "Yeah...alright."
It seemed that while everyone else was just getting off their hormone trips, Meissa's had just begun. She moved toward the ST bed, hand near her face.
She couldn't let anyone see she was blushing. No one. No. It wasn't her. She'd have it hung over her head for way too long.
