OOC YSS Kaiyō II Discussion

I mustered up a short reply. Not much Sif can do before the damage report. But it does give me the idea that she'd need some arm-mounted stuff for that extra slap when she's got a mishu at the speartip, along with some shoulder-mounted ones maybe.

Due to both recent and ongoing commentary, it really felt like Kaiyō's almost too big for the setting after being told time and again that it's too loved to fit within the community without overshadowing others... But believing those things is antithetical to what we're trying to do here. And I'll continue to model how much a plot can be loved, especially by its GM. Every GM probably feels this way! I just want to let you guys know that it took some introspection and raz reminding me to put players first to not try something new out— thank your local Co-GM for keeping the status quo here.

Just to be transparent in case you felt a disturbance in the kaiyō force this past week lol. And I want you all to know I appreciate you for being a part of this. It's just a plot, but it's my favorite plot I could imagine and having you as members of this writing adventure makes it the best.

This isn't the first time you've posted something like this. I think your good attitude in the face of unjustified negativity (plus other elements like our posting consistency, plot longevity, and narrative quality) is a testament to the caliber of your character. That's why Kaiyo will be here, active and telling the Star Army's stories.

Speaking of cool combat exploits, I'm going to ping @Caelesetos here in the hopes that maybe a notification gets to him. It's been a while since he's signed in here or said anything on Discord.

Sorry for the delay, been a lot of stuff going on IRL, I know my latest post wasn't the greatest but I didn't want to retcon in what miori was doing in the mean time too much.

I know time's is been tough and this last post of mine could be confusing. Reach out to me if you don't know what is going on.

In the immediate future, @Gles and @Nameless need to decide what to do with the remaining NMX Neko. Charbon came in, killed three, and asked for the other three. Hoshi agreed.

Everyone else (@raz and @Gunhand4171) needs to join Miori in shooting down the last advanced Mishhu... or making friends with it since that's happening? :sarp_thinking:

At this point, Megabirb is waiting to rejoin in the next mission, if you know what I mean <3

With Aiko's orders: "The rest of you must exit now and rendezvous with Hoshi-taisa on the surface. Go back the way we entered." Molli, Miori, and Asuka should leave.

But I'd like to get a post in to move along the surface, so feel free to wait until later tomorrow to post ^0^

I was really interested to see how Molli would handle the NMX Neko getting shot by Charbon, and was wondering if she'd immediately react or push it off until later. It's been fun watching all of the characters grow over our missions together, and the fact that the Sif-Molli-Rio generation are growing into skilled soldiers who remain cool under pressure is great. Having the two new Rikugun girls in the mix has been interesting, too, and seeing them at an earlier part of their journey as warriors has provided a great contrast.
 
Well said, raz! I was aiming to highlight that contrast in the first few posts and you've reminded me of that. Miori vomming in her helmet definitely underscores that difference >.< heehee

With a new post from me, pls feel free to post @raz @Gunhand4171 @Gles @Nameless @aitoseigi and @Caelesetos! Miori, Asuka, and Molli will finnd the Kaiyo above the water moving about it more near the shore and some plasma fire/commotion on the beach. I'll describe the base's beach component a bit more for you in my next post. A little freeform what you three can do here.

Got a short one out. Hopefully I got the scene right. I tried to not read too hard into the surface battle to keep the mindset of Aiko seeing it suddenly at a glance.

Would you guys like to do an open JP (come post when you can over the course of a couple days) to finish up this mission? I am thinking start it like next Friday, finish it that following Monday?

If not, we need to ramp up SP. I understand life is busy, mine is crazy rn! But this is the meat of the mission/future RP for us right here and we have two returning players in the pews now.

I might? I have only done one JP so I'm a bit vague on how they work normally, but I'm willing to give it a try if it will advance things along.
