Hey, Kaiyo Crew. There's this thing called The Simming Prize, which recognizes cool people and groups within the wider online roleplaying community. Ametheliana was honored with it last year, the Kaiyo plot has been awarded it in the past, and Star Army itself was first bestowed the accolade many years ago.
Judging for the 2025 prize is coming up in January. As a previous non-individual winner, YSS Kaiyo is entitled to send a judge. I'm a trustee of the prize itself, and Ame is an individual winner, so one of you would need to represent us. It's a pretty easy and uninvolved commitment from what I understand; you won't have to read a ton of pages of RP or anything. Mostly just joining a discord channel to vote on nominees. So if any of you'd like to do that and represent our minorly famous roleplay, reach out via DM and I'll get you connected.
In any case I look forward mostly to our RP through Christmas and into the new year
I wanted to start off by saying these two have made some of the best RP on the site. I asked Gles to join in late 2023 and asked Nameless in early 2024 and they've both blown me away with where they take their characters over those years. I wanted to highlight my favorite RP from them. For @Nameless seeing the fallout of the undercover NMX operation in their solo RP "When the Heart Weighs Heavy" was really beautiful! For me, whenever @Gles writes Molli in her NMX body and the mental complications that brings —like in his first post of the aforementioned op— it strikes me as a really thoughtful and slowly building to something even I as a GM am continually and pleasantly surprised by.
I really appreciate the kind words Ame! And the art that I will yoink to add to my collection xD.
Thank you for the foundation that allows Sif's story to exist! She literally wouldn't be who she is without it!
And well, while I'm at it, I'd also like to thank Gles for having Molli be the extrovert that adopted Sif. The bond that's developed between the two of them really is beautiful.
I appreciate how welcoming the plotship has been all around. It goes without saying, but the past two years have been some of the most pleasant RP I've engaged with in a long time. Thanks for giving us a stage to act on, Ame, and another thanks to Nameless for realizing an excellent character that feels inseparable from Molli by this point.
Whether it be because @Sunny D is playing the scientist Morgana or operative Erika, they bring a cerebral and pointedly calculated air that makes me want to up my own game as GM. Despite Erika giving peace fingers with Aiko over a dead Mishhu seemingly being the opposite of this nature, Erika still said it in line with that calculated nature of Sunny D's: "Mind giving a peace sign for analysis back at HQ?"
On the fourth... no, third. I caught a cold or fever... Whatever it is, it means I'll be brief.
I miss @Megabirb mightily. Hoping for good health for them. I want to see more of black panel Rio- this art was even comm'd before then so I'll edit it to black one day! @aitoseigi has been with us for most of this year and has been such a great addition, I really love their amenable attitude while posting often and developing Asuka in RP.
You guys are too kind! I'm glad everyone likes them, I've been sitting on half of them for a few weeks just oggling them!
I've always loved @krisslanza's writing and so it feels like an actual dream to have them and Isuke on my plot. This pink-haired, one-eyed (kinda), scarred up Lorrfolk is pure magic to me- she's just rad. Getting to see Isuke dealing with the misadventures of the kaiyo crew is almost as nice as those times at the onsen with her. Here's her in her uniform at a winter onsen. No context really for that, but the always creative Krisslanza can probably come up with something!

Having others along for this ride has made it so much fun for me and I want to thank each of you, new and old, for committing so much of yourselves—time and creativity—to this plot. Merry Christmas and here's to a happy New Year!
